Dr. Nagendra Kukkadapu, Founder and Director of Research Heights Foundation (RHF), successfully delivered a Research Talk on the “Implementation of SDGs in Higher Educational Institutions” at Hyderabad Institute of Technology and Management (HITAM). He emphasized the vital role of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and explained how acting locally within campuses and communities can create measurable global impact. Through real-world examples, he demonstrated how HEIs can become drivers of sustainable change by aligning their teaching, research, and extension activities with the SDG framework.
Dr. Nagendra also highlighted the range of opportunities and funding avenues available for HEIs—from national schemes and CSR initiatives to global research collaborations—that support SDG-linked projects. He urged faculty and students to actively map societal challenges with relevant SDGs, design innovative solutions, and leverage funding opportunities to amplify their impact. By fostering community-driven research, interdisciplinary innovation, and global partnerships, HEIs can emerge as catalysts for societal transformation while contributing meaningfully to India’s higher education and sustainability agenda.
