Research Heights Foundation (RHF) successfully conducted a Capacity Building Session on SDG Implementation, Net Zero Campus Transformation, and Wise Waste Management at MLR Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, bringing together faculty members and students to explore the vital role of Higher Educational Institutions in advancing sustainability. The session emphasized that colleges and universities are not merely centres of learning but powerful platforms for driving climate action, innovation, responsible consumption, community engagement, and sustainable development. Discussions focused on integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into academic curriculum, research initiatives, student projects, campus operations, and institutional strategies, enabling institutions to move beyond awareness and become centres of measurable impact and transformation.
The session also highlighted practical pathways for establishing SDG Centres of Excellence, developing Net Zero Campus Roadmaps, implementing Wise Waste Management systems, strengthening CSR and industry partnerships, leveraging government schemes, and fostering community outreach initiatives. A key message shared during the interaction was that the SDGs are not an additional responsibility but a strategic framework for making education more relevant, research more impactful, campuses more sustainable, and communities more resilient. Research Heights Foundation remains committed to supporting institutions across India in building structured sustainability ecosystems and empowering campuses to become active contributors to the vision of a Sustainable Bharat.
