Why This Seminar
India is rapidly emerging as a knowledge-driven economy. With one of the world’s largest networks of higher education institutions and a growing base of researchers and innovators, the country has immense potential to become a global leader in research and development.
Yet today, much of India’s academic research remains fragmented, under-resourced, and disconnected from national priorities.
Key challenges include:
- Limited institutional access to competitive grants from DST, ICSSR, DBT, AICTE, and CSR bodies
- Industry’s contribution to research remains minimal — with limited co-funding, mentorship, or technology partnerships at the institutional level
- Low levels of digitization and data-driven research management in many HEIs
- Gaps in industry-academia collaboration, leading to missed opportunities for innovation
- Research output often not aligned with national goals like NEP 2020, SDG 2030, and Viksit Bharat @2047
- Faculty and scholars lacking structured support for proposal writing, IPR, and outcome-based dissemination
